Sally Dorman (MBACP) Humanistic Integrative Counsellor
I am a qualified Humanistic Integrative counsellor practising in Sussex. I am registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework.
My approach is to place you, the client, at the centre of counselling so that I can understand how you see yourself and the world around you. As you are the expert on you, I will not interpret how you live your life, nor make judgments but recognise the way in which you perceive it. I believe that everyone is capable of having a more satisfying and fulfilling life and I draw on a number of techniques to help you find this. My core modalities are Person Centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis.
I know from experience that going to counselling can be daunting. I found being able to talk about my thoughts and feelings to someone who listened objectively very helpful, allowing me to come to terms with what had happened in my life. Recognising negative patterns of behaviour can be a useful way to understand yourself better and I may gently challenge you on any unhelpful beliefs.
My role is not give you advice, but to listen to you carefully in a safe, confidential space, supporting you to work through what is troubling you and address your needs.
I work with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.
My practice is within easy reach of Hurstpierpoint, Ditchling and Haywards Heath and there is free parking outside.
